Frequently Asked Questions

Sessions are scheduled by request. Please email info@chromacolour.ca to enquire about availability.

Your session is a one-on-one experience focused entirely on understanding how colour works for you. We’ll explore how different colours interact with your skin, eyes, and overall presence through a guided draping process, followed by a clear explanation of your results and how to use them in real life.

Please plan for approximately 2.5 hours.

About a week before your session, you’ll receive a short pre-questionnaire designed to guide our conversation and help me understand your goals, preferences, and any past experiences with colour.

On the day of your appointment, please arrive with a makeup-free face (moisturizer is fine). Please avoid self-tanner or facial treatments that may affect skin colour. This preparation allows the analysis to be precise and visually clear.

Avoid wearing earrings or turtlenecks to the appointment, and if you wear glasses come with your most neutral pair.

You’re welcome to bring makeup you currently use or a few clothing pieces you’d like to assess together.

Your palette identifies your power colours — the colours that create a harmonious, pleasing effect and enhance your entire complexion and facial features. When you wear them, you show up first, not your outfit. The result is a polished, confident presence and a wardrobe that supports you rather than competing with you.

Personal colour analysis takes place within a defined colour framework, controlled lighting, and calibrated drapes. Results are reached through direct comparison: colours are tested and assessed based on what enhances your face and what detracts, using a process of elimination.

Within that structure, there is an element of trained visual interpretation. The analyst evaluates subtle but consistent changes in complexion and facial features. Accuracy depends on experience, precision, and the ability to read these cues — which is why in-person analysis matters.

No. Once identified in adulthood, your Season remains consistent throughout your life. What evolves is how you choose to express it—through style, context, and personal preference. Your palette is a foundation, not a limitation.

That response is more common than you might expect. Seeing yourself in true colour harmony can feel unfamiliar at first—especially if it challenges long-held habits or assumptions.

I encourage clients to live with their palette for a short adjustment period. As you begin to wear the colours, you’ll likely find the results become increasingly obvious and intuitive.

If after that time you genuinely feel your Season is incorrect, I will re-drape you at no charge. Accuracy matters, and I stand fully behind the process.
